Soon to occupy this space (construction completed in 2015) will be the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.

In honor of that - here are some pictures from the 20th Anniversary of the March on Washington in 1983 (and two bonus 1970’s pictures of New York City’s World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty)… all in memory of a friend’s dad, who took these great pictures.

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is coming back to Washington, DC. See here.
The picture: Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto, Canada sometime in the mid 1990s.

Here’s Miss RuPaul’s smokin’ hot look for her Drag Race season 4 “finale,” which aired this week.
In many ways, Season 4 was unlike any of the previous seasons, as contestants were put through a battery of challenges never before seen on the show. The finale was no different with its cliff-hanging shocker. Instead of crowning a winner this week, fans now have a week to tweet their choice via the tag: #DragRace.
The winner will be revealed on the April 30 “reunion” show on Logo.

Here’s a photo spread inspired by the “Great Recession,” which really just needs to go away.

These photos are of a recently-vacated office building in Northern Virginia. I used basic iPhone 4 camera; and then SnapSeed (on iPad 2) to modify the photography.

Please share your “Great Recession”-inspired photography with a photo reply.

Thanks.
